Responsibility


  • strategic planning in conjunction with the Executive Chef
  • develop and manage food quality and standards
  • manage the financial performance of the Pastry Kitchen
  • manage safety and hygiene
  • manage and develop the team
  • to ensure proper implementation of Company policies and procedures, ensuring they are understood and followed by all team members
  • you will be working with the Executive Head Chef in ensuring a smooth running of the kitchen and being involved in the ordering and rotas for the kitchen team
  • developing, creating and producing pastry dishes to a high standard
  • working with the executive chef to plan menus and desserts for events
  • ensuring the highest levels of health and safety and food hygiene are maintained in the kitchen
  • training and motivating a team of chefs to reach their potential
  • maintaining high levels of stock control and ordering ingredients
  • working to a budget and ensuring cost effectiveness
  • ensure all the food sent from kitchen is of the highest standards
  • support the feasibility and development of the new experience from a food perspective
  • overseeing the daily operations of the pastry department, mentoring and managing a team of pastry chefs and assistants
  • ensuring that the preparation and presentation of the food is at a high standard, and complies with food safety regulations
  • supporting the Events team in the execution and delivery of events and the opportunity to be creative
  • being capable of working independently and juggling an ever-changing workload
  • maintain impeccable standards of hygiene and safety, adhering to all relevant regulations and hotel policies
