Responsibility


  • strategic planning in conjunction with the Executive Chef
  • develop and manage food quality and standards
  • manage the financial performance of the Pastry Kitchen
  • manage safety and hygiene
  • manage and develop the team
  • to ensure proper implementation of Company policies and procedures, ensuring they are understood and followed by all team members
  • you will be working with the Executive Head Chef in ensuring a smooth running of the kitchen and being involved in the ordering and rotas for the kitchen team
  • developing, creating and producing pastry dishes to a high standard
  • working with the executive chef to plan menus and desserts for events
  • ensuring the highest levels of health and safety and food hygiene are maintained in the kitchen
  • training and motivating a team of chefs to reach their potential
  • maintaining high levels of stock control and ordering ingredients
  • working to a budget and ensuring cost effectiveness
  • prepare a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and presentation standards
  • ensure all food safety protocols are adhered to during food preparation and production
  • assist in the development of new pastry recipes and menu items
  • maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of ingredients
  • monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and communicate needs to the kitchen manager
  • collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours
  • conduct regular quality checks on baked goods to ensure consistency in taste and presentation
