Responsibility


  • to deputise for the GM for the whole operation
  • all strategic solutions will be cross-organisational and multi-disciplinary and solutions will require the highest level of expertise in service improvement

  • the Gastrointestinal Medicine and Surgery Directorate is seeking a compassionate, dynamic and collaborative Deputy General Manager to join the Directorate Management Team
  • the purpose of the Deputy General Manager post is to support and deputise for General Manager to ensure that both strategic and operational demands continue to be met

  • the Deputy General Manager is accountable to the General Manager. The purpose of the DGM is to support and deputise for the General Manager and Head of Nursing to ensure that both strategic and operational demands are met
  • deputise for the General Manager, co-chairing with the Clinical Director, the directorate performance management and governance meeting
  • provide management support, coaching and direction to the Heads of Service, Clinical Leads and Service Managers in order to enable them to deliver business/ CIP plans and objectives
  • provide support to the Transformation and Integration Programme Manager on overseeing the estates strategy, to ensure good communication and co-ordination on estates and facilities issues
  • the post holder will be responsible for implementing and managing systems and processes to ensure that all services are delivered in accordance with Trust-wide policies
  • monitor compliance within the Directorate with Trust-wide staff management policies and procedures and take remedial action with accountable managers where shortfalls occur
  • 40 hours over a five day week . No weekends
