Requirements

experience of a modern telephone switchboard would be highly desirable
good standard of literacy and numeracy
familiarity with Windows Suite Software
ability to learn new skills quickly
good communication skills
knowledge of and Experience of working with a VOIP telephone network, problem solving and deploying VOIP equipment in an enterprise environment would be desirable
minimum 2 years experience as a telephonist preferred
previous experience of using CORDIC
good telephone manner / communication skills
basic IT knowledge
able to work as part of a team and independently
must be able to prioritise and work well under pressure when we have an influx of jobs

Responsibility

provide support and assistance to staff and callers to the organisation
reporting any network failures to the Telecommunications System Supervisor
liaising with and assisting Telephone Engineers
to operate the organisations telephone procedures in the event of real or practice emergencies
maintain a calm and professional manner in all of your dealings with the users and colleagues
to receive incoming telephone calls via the switchboard and route them to the correct person or department quickly and efficiently with the aid of a computerised directory
work effectively, both independently and as part of a supportive team
work in a logical and effective manner when dealing with telephone system faults
be self-motivated in maintaining personal technical competency
to provide a helpful switchboard service and assist with general moves and changes required on the system using the computerised, windows based management system
to make sure messages and faxes reach the relevant person/department in a timely manner
to attend to customer requirements
to operate the switchboard in an efficient and professional manner
to answer all phone calls in a polite and professional manner within the expected time parameters
to answer all hospital/ clinic/ patient queries with regards to their patient transport
updating all bookings on the cleric system with any changes made on the day
to work closely with the control team, liaising with road staff informing them of new runs or any changes to work
you will mainly be responsible for taking calls from customers and booking jobs on to our Cordic software
we are a mini cab office located in Islington looking to hire a part time Telephonist
you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of our fleet, ensuring prompt pickups for our customers, and handling enquiries from our drivers
