Requirements


  • knighton: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work
  • have knowledge and experience in working with Tier 4 and 5 engines, regen and adblue systems
  • previous experience working as a Workshop Engineer or in a similar role
  • previous experience in a similar role
  • you will hold an NVQ or equivalent qualification in engineering, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics and electronics
  • proven track record of motor vehicle, heavy goods vehicle, materials handling, or access equipment maintenance
  • experienced in motor vehicles, heavy goods vehicles, materials handling, or access equipment maintenance
  • experienced forklift / plant / commercial vehicle engineer
  • excellent organisational abilities
  • you will be quick learner while having the willingness to attend internal and external training courses
  • practical expertise in hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • good communication skills
  • knowledge of materials handling equipment is advantageous
  • basic IT skills
  • A background in Mechanical Engineering and Hydraulics is essential
  • strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • basic computer skills for record-keeping

Responsibility


  • adherence to Health & Safety regulation requirements, and Company procedures
  • development of RAMS, SWP’s for activities relating to Depot Facility, engineering tasks, projects / production
  • understand schematic drawings, following technical plans and instructions provided from machinery / equipment manufacturers
  • inspection, testing, the planned or reactive maintenance of workshop production machinery, tools, and equipment. Inc, electro-hydraulic circuits, fluids, control systems
  • provide technical / Engineering support and solutions to our management team, workshop staff operational technicians
  • supervise and support company personnel with the design and production of engineering projects and tasks as require by the operating facility or Fleet / Maintenance department
  • understanding of engineering machinery tooling, parts and consumable items
  • you will carry out inspections and local preparation of machines, such as fitting buckets or attachments, reversing cameras, radars
  • location: Belfast, Northern Ireland
  • you will repair and maintain heavy-duty quarrying equipment, including excavators, articulated haulers, wheel loaders, bulldozers such as Volvo, Caterpillar, Liehberr and Komatsu to a very high standard
  • full Time, Permanent, 8:30 - 17:00, 42.5 hours per week
  • conduct routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of waste, recycling, and forestry equipment
  • diagnose mechanical and hydraulic issues, and perform necessary repairs
  • conduct thorough equipment inspections and provide recommendations for improvements
  • collaborate with team members to ensure all equipment is in safe and working condition
  • maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities
  • assist in ordering and managing spare parts inventory
  • follow safety protocols and adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • as a Workshop Plant Fitter you will be an integral part of our team responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of waste, recycling, and forestry equipment
  • pre-delivery inspections on our fleet of Hitachi excavators
