  • cycle industry: 1 year
  • cycle mechanic: 1 year
  • all criteria are essential, and your application will be assessed on all points detailed below
  • cytech or City and Guild Cycle Mechanic qualified, preferably at level 2, minimum level 1
  • passion and an interest in cycling and understanding of the benefits that cycling/physical activity can bring
  • driving licence preferred as there is a requirement to drive the project van
  • experience of working on bikes is preferred but not essential as we offer full in-house training
  • from the onset, you will be enrolled on a Cytech course to complete your level 2 & 3, which will lead you to become a fully qualified cycle mechanic upon completion

Responsibility


  • bike building, PDI & servicing of all bike models
  • to schedule workshop jobs and maintain accurate customer bike records
  • diagnose and repair the maintenance work needed on customer bikes
  • good communication with customers regarding work in progress and any parts required for repairs
  • advising and recommending cycling products and services, to achieve successful sales
  • responsible for opening and closing daily procedures including cash handling, and key holder duties as required
  • assessing and repairing customers bikes
  • building new bikes
  • reconditioning used bikes
  • liaising with customers about their requirements
  • assisting customers find the best solution for their cycling requirements
  • identify, order and fit a range of bike parts that are needed to ensure the maintenance, or enhancement, of our bike fleet within an agreed budget
  • booking in bikes
  • building mechanical & electric bikes
  • keeping up to date with the latest technology
  • repairing & servicing bikes
  • diagnosing faults
  • setting up bikes for customers
  • communicating with customers
  • any additional duties as required by management
