Requirements

expertise in Robotic systems – Troubleshooting and triage without physical access
practical knowledge of robotics sensor calibration in practical applications
strong background in systems engineering
familiarity with large, extensive deployments
knowledge of PySpark
developed skillset in Python and C++
A degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related subject
A sound understanding of the fundamentals of drones and UxVs
strong understanding of open-source protocols and frameworks commonly used in UxVs
experience with ROS2 or ROS
strong mathematical and analytical skills
robot/drones/Uav: 2 years
proficiency with Python and C++, experience working in a large collaborative codebase
mechanical / robotics engineering bachelor’s or advanced degree with several years of experience or equivalent
designing, testing and integration of all aspects of the components for builds including but not limited to, propulsion, and chassis
ability to innovate and assess current solutions to provide potential upgrades or enhance production
experience with design and implementation of QM processes to ensure accurate production
● Knowledge and Experience Programming ABB Robots
● Knowledge and Experience of the JLR Standards
● Offline Experience in either Process Simulate, RobCad or Robot Studio

we're looking for Robotics Engineers /Programmers with knowledge of ABB programming for work in Birmingham

£55 per hr
ongoing long-term work. This is a 6 month initial contract
pay will be weekly and we're happy to hear from Ltd company or sole traders for this contract
you'll need Robot with BMW knowledge, candidates with ABB and BIW experience would also be considered but BMW would be an advantage

maintain calibration to improve the efficiency and dependability of their fleets
incorporate a productive workflow for calibration into the commissioning procedures for new platforms
assist with the roadmap for SLAM pipelines to support the calibration of sensors
recognise industry and academic tools and procedures, and when necessary, take the lead on projects from proof-of-concept to production
developing, optimising, and maintaining algorithms for our drone autonomy products using ROS
integrating new sensors and AI-sourced inputs into the system and maintaining the interfaces
building the interfaces for communicating with UxVs, including third-party autopilot interactions
establishing and automating testing procedures to ensure the stability of autonomy components
continuous improvement of the performance and efficiency of the autonomy components
close collaboration with the team to ensure full system visibility and functionality
analysis of simulation data and real-world testing to evaluate and refine system performance
mechanical design, development and build for manufacture
