Requirements

previous experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in a school or educational institution
familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures commonly used in science education
strong organizational skills and attention to detail
your availability to work either immediately, or at short notice

your recent UK working experience going back at least 5 years, or full employment history if you have been working for fewer years than this
full UK driving licence

educated to HNC/D level or above in a relevant subject area or significant vocational experience, demonstrating development through progressively more demanding, relevant roles

Responsibility

prepare laboratory equipment and materials for science experiments and demonstrations
assist teachers and students during laboratory sessions, providing technical support and guidance as needed
design, produce and issue of learning and teaching resources to meet curriculum needs
maintain an inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment, ordering replacements as necessary
create and maintain a purposeful, orderly, and productive working environment
ensure that laboratory equipment is functioning properly and perform basic repairs and maintenance when required
