Requirements


  • previous experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in a school or educational institution
  • familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures commonly used in science education
  • strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • your availability to work either immediately, or at short notice

  • your recent UK working experience going back at least 5 years, or full employment history if you have been working for fewer years than this
  • full UK driving licence

  • IAT level 2 Diploma in Animal Science and Technology
  • significant training will be provided for this purpose
  • educated to HNC/D level or above in a relevant subject area or significant vocational experience, demonstrating development through progressively more demanding, relevant roles

Responsibility


  • prepare laboratory equipment and materials for science experiments and demonstrations
  • assist teachers and students during laboratory sessions, providing technical support and guidance as needed
  • design, produce and issue of learning and teaching resources to meet curriculum needs
  • maintain an inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment, ordering replacements as necessary
  • create and maintain a purposeful, orderly, and productive working environment
  • ensure that laboratory equipment is functioning properly and perform basic repairs and maintenance when required
