Requirements

you must be a Level 3 qualified Vehicle Technician and able to demonstrate your knowledge and practical skills
3 years qualified experience in Vehicle mechanical repair & servicing
it would be a significant advantage if you are already a qualified MOT tester
knowledge of and interest in EV also an advantage
enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a positive attitude are essential
professional & skilled workmanship
attends specialised training as required
provides assistance and guidance to colleagues who are less skilled or knowledgeable about a particular vehicle or technology
coaches and supports apprentice technicians – for example by explaining a repair on a step-by-step basis as it is being carried out, or allowing an apprentice to carry out part of a job

city & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Vehicle Mechanics
✔ Recognised apprenticeship or proven work history
✔ City and Guilds / NVQ level 3 minimum
✔ At least 3-5 years’ workshop experience in similar roles
✔ 5 years’ workshop experience in similar roles
✔ MOT Testers
level 3 qualification in relevant qualification
previous experience working as a Mechanic
✔ Additional qualifications in specialist diagnostics, electrical repair, mechanical repair and welding would be advantageous

Responsibility

to carry out vehicle servicing and repairs to all makes and models of light vehicle & LCV
to carry out MOT testing – qualification required
to ensure customer satisfaction in the service and repair of vehicles – both private and Commercial
to employ technical knowledge and skills in all areas of service / repair / fault finding & diagnostics
to identify & report any current / future vehicle faults and servicing requirements whilst working on vehicles
to ensure all work is thoroughly reviewed and signed off by QC
to ensure that all Health & Safety policies are adhered to, and materials / tools are properly maintained
to keep work area clean and tidy
works with colleagues to maintain workshop standards of cleanliness and tidiness
reports on technical problems using appropriate procedures
complete and maintain accurate documentation of all tests performed
adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
carrying out vehicle MOTs using the latest technology
carrying out vehicle health checks using the latest technology
conducting vehicle service in accordance with manufacturers guidelines and customer requests
conducting MOT's in accordance with manufacturers guidelines and customer requests
carrying out any additional repairs once authorised by the customer
warranty repairs are per the manufacturer’s guidelines and relevant write up is complete
taking the customers vehicle out on a road test to ensure all faults are rectified
complete all relevant paperwork to a high standard
