Requirements

  • as a part of your role, you will be responsible for maintaining the company's HGVs
  • if you are not qualified, applications will be considered from candidates with experience in repair and maintenance of HGV/PSV
  • A full UK driving licence
  • ability to be passed fit for a pre-employment medical
  • carry out routine inspections, servicing and repairs to HGV fleet and trailers
  • HGV Mechanic: 3 years
  • HGV motor vehicle technician background
  • attained the appropriate City & Guilds, NVQ or BTEC qualifications
  • minimum of Class 2 License
  • hydraulics experience is desirable
  • welding and forklift experience is desirable
  • city & Guilds/NVQ level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics OR qualified by experience
  • strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair vehicles
  • proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment
  • knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions and brakes

Responsibility

  • from £18.66 to £27.03 per hour
  • maintaining sites HGVs and ensuring the work is completed on time and as per manufacturer guidelines
  • we have a variation of shifts available, including early mornings, afternoons, lates, as well as 1 in 4 Saturdays
  • ensuring all breakdowns and reactive works are completed with high standards and in a timely manner
  • accurately diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults with the HGV's and across the site
  • taking proactive measures to improve ways of working
  • accurately communicating technical information and outstanding work tyour team mates
  • we are excited to partner with M&S to find a qualified HGV technician to join our engineering team and play a key role of the servicing and repairing of our large fleet of vehicles in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner
  • escalating issues to relevant managers
