  • ability to coordinate multiple deliverables, at differing stages of planning and operation
  • an understanding of managing events, including the development of plans to support their delivery whilst minimising impact
  • experience of working within a time critical environment
  • ability to learn TfL’s technology and systems, including the Microsoft suite of applications
  • experience of engaging with and maintaining effective working relationships with our stakeholders
  • you will be a self-motivated individual able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills allied with the ability to negotiate, influence and represent TfL both internally and externally
  • experience of representing your organisation at structured multi-agency meetings
  • ability to produce and present well planned and effective operational plans and the ability to effectively react to changing circumstances
  • A bachelor's degree in transport planning, town and country planning, geography, or a related subject
  • desirable experience in aviation and transport planning, preferably within an airport or a similarly complex transportation network
  • knowledge of transport planning principles, regulations, and best practices, with a focus on sustainable transport solutions
  • proficiency in assisting with data analysis and trend evaluation to support informed decision-making regarding surface access
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey transport and planning concepts to various stakeholders

Responsibility


  • to input and monitor all hazard reporting with trending feedback to FLM’s in Transport
  • to ensure timely and accurate handling of all service-related issues and concerns and that they are escalated and communicated
  • to support all Working Time Directive inputs, infringement reporting & compliance reporting
  • to be a lead contact on site with the FTA and to be the custodian of the transport audit
  • ensure agency driver management is first class with timesheet collation and payroll systems
  • support the Transport department’s schedule adherence KPI by making best use of the company scheduling systems
  • ensure that any service issues arising are addressed promptly and escalated
  • support FLM’s with the delivery of the ‘Safety First’ message
  • build and develop effective relationships with other teams on site to ensure cross functional working
  • provide management cover for the FLM in their absence
  • collaborate with the management team to develop and implement strategies for improving operational efficiency
  • ensure all transportation activities comply with O Licence regulations and industry standards
  • recruit, train, and develop drivers to maintain high performance and safety standards
  • lead and manage a team of Class 1 truck drivers, ensuring compliance with driving regulations and company standards
  • monitor and manage KPI delivery, ensuring operational targets are met or exceeded
  • assist in improving public transport services to Birmingham Airport to increase employee and passenger use of public transport
  • contribute to the development and execution of the Airport's Surface Access Strategy and Annual Employee Travel Plan survey
  • assist in interpreting emerging transport and planning policies and provide guidance across the Airport Company and its partners
  • coordinate internal and external meetings, record key outcomes, and assist in the preparation and/or scrutiny of planning applications
  • review and interpret transport planning policy, making recommendations, or responding to consultations with the Airport’s interests in mind
