Responsibility


  • managing day to day relationships with key insurers and senior manager in the retail insurance market
  • using experience, knowledge and professional judgement to make complex risk-based decisions
  • analyse firms’ business models and strategies and identifying the key risks of harm, dealing with complex problems, and finding solutions
  • playing an important role in setting our supervision strategies, and in implementing our plans and actions
  • preparing clear written documents relaying complex information in the FCA tone
  • managing communication plans to deliver key messages internally and externally
  • form sound judgement on a variety of regulatory topics and communicating this clearly and succinctly to internal and external stakeholders
  • ensuring key risks and information are escalated quickly and clearly within the FCA
  • be part of a fast-paced team that pioneers the use of technology to drive continuous improvement of our processes and operations
  • engage with the senior management of firms and influencing them to deliver better customer outcomes, including discussions regarding the culture, business model, governance and systems and controls within their firms
  • contribute to the wider Department and Division, including supporting colleagues and identification of sector-wide risks and issues
  • contribute to the development, implementation, and oversight of effective, assertive supervisory strategies to address key risks of harm and recommend supervisory interventions where appropriate
  • use data to identify trends, outliers and provide insights to support the Divisions work and working on event-driven work in response to firm issues and industry developments
  • work collaboratively and building strong relationships with stakeholders across the Directorate, the wider FCA and key external stakeholders such as the Prudential Regulation Authority
  • oversee the AP function for the UK group
  • provide cover of AP clerks when needed, receiving and recording invoices from suppliers
  • reconcile AP vendor accounts
  • lead AP project of reducing parked invoices and unallocated payments on account, meeting monthly KPIs
  • respond to supplier and internal payment chasers/queries
  • process contractor invoices
