Requirements

  • proven experience in a managerial role within the food manufacturing industry, preferably in a chilled food production environment
  • strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively
  • sound knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
  • excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills
  • flexibility to work night shifts, including two non-consecutive nights off per week
  • eligibility to work in the UK without requiring visa sponsorship

Responsibility


  • you would be the main point of contact for the principal and household staff whilst the day house management is out of hours
  • location: Chatham

  • carry out H&S related investigations and ensure that all recommendations and outcomes are implemented
  • about you
  • lead and supervise a large team during night shifts, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to safety and quality standards
  • manage the preparation of chilled high-end food products, including rice and component preparation, in readiness for daytime production
  • monitor production processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as necessary to optimize efficiency and productivity
  • ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including food safety and hygiene requirements
  • foster a positive working environment, promoting teamwork, communication, and continuous development among team members
  • handle any issues or emergencies that arise during the night shift, escalating as needed to senior management
  • being the first point of contact for all staff issues and answering internal queries
  • attending weekly meetings
  • conducting staff salary reviews, team meetings and team events
  • managing employee relations cases
  • carrying out all Recruitment and Selection tasks; interviews, onboarding and training
  • overseeing all night operations including; picking/packing and handover to the day teams
  • communicating with other senior managers within the business and maintaining good relationships
