  • we are looking for a Female Support Worker who has experience supporting clients with Learning Disabilities, Full or Part Time hours available, hours to be agreed at interview. A driver is essential

Responsibility


  • prompt and assist with medication when required
  • our care is attachment based work and we work using empathy, nurture and understanding of the needs of the children
  • we will teach you about behaviour management and trauma informed care
  • we are looking for Full Time Carers to work in Residential Children's Homes near Colchester. We currently have three homes. The children are 10 to 18 and have emotional, social and behavioural difficulties
  • we need Full Time Carers who can work to a three day rota – that means one full day on, including a sleep-in and then two days off
  • you will therefore need to be able to control your own emotions in response to challenging situations and have bags of empathy for the children
  • we are looking for people who will allow themselves to enjoy working with these challenging children, and when time allows to do the household chores - cooking, cleaning, tidying, washing etc to keep the home in order
  • candidates also need to be able to produce the required documentation and logs throughout the day - so you do need to be able to write a few paragraphs as a diary of events
  • the minimum £28,578.96 per annum salary is based on a £11.04ph and £57.36 per sleep-in. There is the potential, if you choose, to take on extra shifts - though we firmly believe in the need for a good work/life balance
  • also, your holiday pay includes the £57.36 per night sleep in allowance as we consider that to be part of your salary
  • we are currently recruiting for FULL or PART TIME SUPPORT WORKERS, this is to work with a client who has a spinal cord injury, living in her own home in the Thursby area

  • to provide primary basic care and a nurturing, therapeutic environment to help the young people progress as any positive parent would want for their child
  • acting as a mentor and role model to the young people, promoting a healthy lifestyle and championing their views, wishes and feelings
  • our candidate will need to commit to working towards being a truly therapeutic practitioner, in the model of PACE, never reacting to behaviours on a surface level, instead maintaining firm and fair boundaries, understanding most behaviours come from a place of trauma and can be unlearnt
  • our candidate needs to be able to work effectively and cooperatively with colleagues, follow policies, procedures and risk assessments to safeguard themselves and the young people
  • administrative activities associated with the smooth running of the service
  • holidays: 33 days per year
