Requirements


  • relevant qualification in Learning Support or a related field
  • experience working with students with SEND in an educational setting, preferably within a college environment
  • understanding of various SEND conditions and effective strategies to support individual needs
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible, and all employment breaks must be explained
  • patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting students with SEND
  • you must have legal right to work in the UK
  • right to work in the UK
  • minimal 12 month experience in the UK
  • proof of vaccinations/immunity
  • DBS Check/Update Service Check
  • proof of Mandatory training aligned to the Skills for Health UK CSTF standards
  • applicants must hold a degree in social work or equivalent and

Responsibility


  • collaborate with teaching staff to implement individualised learning plans and provide targeted support to students with SEND
  • offer one-to-one or group assistance to students, adapting teaching materials and methods to accommodate diverse learning needs
  • work closely with teaching and specialist staff, including speech therapists and occupational therapists, to create a cohesive support network for students
  • working with small groups of students, under the guidance of a teacher, to deliver targeted interventions and support
  • monitor and document the progress of students with SEND, providing regular feedback to teaching staff and parents
  • supporting the teacher in the classroom to ensure a positive learning environment for all students
  • foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the social and emotional well-being of students
  • liaising with parents/carers and outside agencies as necessary to ensure the best outcomes for students
  • implement behaviour management strategies to ensure a safe and supportive college atmosphere
