Responsibility


  • personal development of staff members
  • ensuring compliance with site standard working practices and all H&S requirements
  • continuous reviewing of operational methods, procedures and efficiency
  • overseeing the site KPI's
  • reducing any waste and/or damage to product
  • to ensure all contractual KPI’s are complete for each SET before entering service
  • to ensure that all records are completed and entered into the maintenance management system
  • obtain and use engineering schedules, procedures and specifications for traction and rolling stock activities
  • support good quality, health, safety and environmental practices in the workplace
  • organise resources and prioritise routines to undertake planned traction and rolling stock engineering activities
  • contribute fully to all site and business quality, safety and environmental initiatives
  • lead and manage a shift team and maintain excellent working relationships with all site personnel
  • supervise, monitor and control plant operations to meet quality and operational requirements
  • control and supervise contractor personnel in accordance with site rules, regulations and permit to work requirements
  • identify and resolve operational issues as they arise
  • act as senior person on site for on/off site emergencies and implement site emergency plans as required
  • ensure all site operations are always conducted in a safe manner and in accordance with the company operating and safety standards
  • produce regular management reports and KPI’s
  • to be actively involved in NPD projects which affect your department
  • effective day-to-day management of 4 direct reports and indirect reports, including performance appraisals, personal development and succession planning
