  • A recognised craft apprenticeship and will have obtained HNC/HND or equivalent in an Mechanical Engineering discipline
  • relevant Engineering Apprenticeship
  • qualified NVQ Level 3
  • they must be able to work co-operatively as part of a team
  • proven experience within a similar technical Role
  • instructing/coaching colleagues in areas of own expertise
  • to work flexibly in order to respond to changing demands
  • A detailed knowledge of a range of specialised equipment and processes including the associated safety requirements and emergency procedures is required and appropriate training will be given where necessary
  • current Construction Safety Certification Scheme Card at appropriate level of qualification
  • if electrically qualified, current Electro-technical Certification Scheme Card required
  • city& Guilds Part 3, ONC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering essential
  • if accepted for role, you will be expected to complete a CSCS card before you can start
  • ECS gold card

Responsibility


  • supports the maintenance engineering activity to recover from unplanned stoppages, plus support first up information gathering and problem solving
  • supports the MRO Stores Controller to ensure that Inventory is optimized to meet reliability and plant performance
  • collaborate within the engineering departments to lead a team of contractors for maintenance and capital project activities during plant outages
  • detailed reporting of equipment using the computerized maintenance management system
  • support the SHE department to ensure the highest levels of Safety, Health and Environment performance at all times for all maintenance activities on site
  • working collaboratively with all departments to continuously improve plant Reliability / OEE performance through FMEA / RCM studies, PM / PdM program optimization to improve MTBF and MTTR
  • to diagnose faults and to test, repair and maintain Mechanical / Electrical equipment
  • to observe, recognise and report on machinery or component defects or symptoms of impending failure
  • identify life cycle issues and raise these with possible recommendations
  • carry out Planned and Preventative Maintenance to agreed schedules
  • have an active role to play in continuously improving our business
  • shift pattern – 4 on, 4 off – 2 days, 2 nights – 7am-7pm & 7pm-7am
