Responsibility

analysing plans, bills of quantities and other project documentation in order to estimate costs
researching, sourcing, negotiating and obtaining the best prices and quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
analysing data that can affect costs
assessing the financial, technical and operational risks of the project
visiting project sites to gather information
staying aware of the latest construction technologies
keeping up to date with the latest regulatory and legislative requirements
inputting into decisions over whether to bid for the project
working closely with key members of the project team and liaising with clients and suppliers
keeping detailed records and writing reports
perform other duties as assigned by management
full material take-off of services drawings and specifications as required
produce accurate and detailed mechanical estimates for a range of projects
analyse and interpret project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine the scope of work required
collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to obtain competitive pricing and ensure that estimates are comprehensive and accurate
prepare and present estimates to clients, including detailed breakdowns of costs and timelines
monitor and report on project costs throughout the lifecycle of each project
ensure that all estimates are in compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards
work closely with the engineering and project management teams to ensure that estimates are delivered on time and to a high standard
liaising with clients, main contractors and/or suppliers and subcontractors
