Requirements

strong understanding of HTML and CSS for web-based packaging applications is advantageous
experience in digital design or graphic design is preferred, with a portfolio showcasing relevant work
familiarity with sketching techniques to conceptualise packaging ideas effectively
excellent attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards
strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
crucial
scientific background essential – experience working with lab testing equipment, etc
systems and software knowledge to include Microsoft packages

previous experience of Packaging Development

Responsibility

design and create packaging layouts using CAD and other graphic design software for 2D and 3D
collaborate with the marketing team to ensure packaging aligns with brand guidelines and product specifications
utilise web design skills to enhance online product presentation through digital packaging concepts
prepare prototypes and mock-ups for new packaging designs, incorporating feedback from stakeholders
maintain an organised inventory of packaging materials and supplies, ensuring timely replenishment
conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet company standards before distribution
assist in photography of packaged products for promotional materials and online listings
managing multiple packaging projects from conception through to delivery, ensuring each project is completed on time and within budget
build strong relationships with suppliers, agencies and manufacturers, as well as frequent collaboration with the internal Supply Chain team
developing packaging process to fit global compliance and quality standards, taking a lead role in sustainability initiatives to become as sustainable as possible
keep up to date with new market trends in beauty and packaging to ensure target categories are innovation and ahead of the curve
driving the sustainability agenda in collaboration with the CSR & Environment Team and working with Supply Chain and Procurement
keep abreast of packaging sustainability, ethical supply routes and global sourcing developments, trends etc
source new packaging and/or suppliers in line with design briefs or procurement projects and maintain collaborative relationships
attend first off production runs at our manufacturing sites and at suppliers as required
provide technical support to Procurement on new and existing packaging sourcing requirements, identifying and actualising opportunities for cost and quality improvement
lead change control and line trials for new Packaging initiatives from Procurement, NPD or the Head of Production until completion
provide ongoing support to the New Product Development/Innovation and Portfolio Management Processes, by creating the best product solution for the consumer, help define packaging specifications, costs and ensure process capability
ensure that packaging components and specifications are consistent with third party manufacturers, machinery and quality control requirements
artwork approval for technical elements including barcodes
