Requirements

minimum of 5 years’ experience in pattern cutting and the production field
experience with flat pattern drawing, draping, and Lectra is essential
experienced in client fittings
knowledge and understanding of sewing and finishes at production and Couture level
can work independently
pattern Cutting: 1 year
sewing: 1 year
ladieswear design background is essential
minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience gained within a similar role
minimum of 2 years’ experience gained within a similar role
ideally worked with brands like Boohoo and PLT
design background is essential
working knowledge of Vetigraph essential
proven ability to bring on board quality accounts
experience of working with high street retailers
experience of dealing with high street retailers and presenting designs/ranges
strong pattern cutting skills
keen eye for detail and the ability to work autonomously
advanced knowledge in construction methods
to be passionate, enthusiastic and be willing to learn

Responsibility

pattern Creation from design handover stage
confident working 3-dimensionally as well as developing flat patterns
flexible to work from measurements when and if required
attend fittings to execute all fit notes and necessary correction discussed and directed by our design team
work with the existing pattern cutter to build and share responsibility of the pattern cutting library
create and cut out set of patterns for MTO collection
work on developments of pattern for new styles and shapes applicable across Bridal and Couture collections
create production master patterns to a high standard
modify existing patterns to adapt Made to Measure and Custom requests, preferably digitally whenever possible
supervise in house machinists during the sampling or create toiles when needed
review pilot samples and grading samples ahead of production for approval
meet and greet VIP/Celebrities and clients, and conduct fittings when required
hold fittings for MTO and Couture collections, able to provide technical solutions and improvements
collection & Specials Pattern Development: Bridal Made to Order and Made to Measure, Special Projects, Production Patterns and Grading
collaborate on the creation of MTO and Couture Collections with technical and style input
you will be working with brands like Boohoo and PLT
an excellent opportunity for a Ladieswear Designer/Pattern Cutter/ Account Holder to join a well-established supplier of ladies high fashion to wholesalers, independent outlets, retailers and stores throughout the UK and Europe
to follow working notes and drawings / instructions relating to the manual creation of patterns
have excellent interpretation skills from design to pattern, including scale and proportions
create patterns from clients’ measurements following design, illustrations or photographs
