Responsibility


  • define the estimating scope for a project and prepare an estimate plan of work, to identify all deliverables and interfaces with other disciplines to ensure planned completion and the estimate is developed in insufficient detail and is in accordance with good estimating practice
  • produce estimating deliverables in accordance with the appropriate procedures and guidelines
  • implement best practice estimating policy, processes and procedures on projects
  • providing estimating input to performance reporting, risk and change assessments
  • able to review estimate bases including the supporting project controls, supply chain and technical artefacts
  • providing robust cost advice and analysis to support key business decision making and reviews
  • develop comprehensive cost baselines, continuously monitor progress, and promptly take corrective action to ensure effective cost management
  • utilise cost management principles and processes aligned with risk management, establishing necessary contingency requirements within the overall budget framework
  • conduct thorough reviews of cost estimates, challenging proposals using industry-standard cost benchmarks and norms as part of the review process

  • demonstrate proficiency in cost management techniques, including Earned Value Management , to effectively track project performance
  • showcase best practices by executing complex estimates and generating necessary estimating deliverables such as methodologies, basis documents, and risk assessments
  • collaborate cross-functionally with other disciplines, leveraging Building Information Modeling data for improved project coordination
  • location: South East London
  • ensure technical accuracy, adherence to schedules, and budget compliance for assigned projects
  • apply diverse data sources to develop comprehensive cost models, particularly focusing on indirect costs
  • present the estimate at tender settlement then capture and incorporate settlement adjustments
  • actively promote Value Engineering or Alternative tender submissions; develop and price any worthy of consideration for our submission
  • liaise and challenge the planner to agree programme outputs & identify and include appropriate method related temporary works allowance
  • check any received quotations from prospective suppliers / subcontracts are compliant with client / tender requirements
