Responsibility

  • acorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of a Public Sector Client for a Handyman/Maintenance Person required on a temporary basis based in Cardiff
  • fire compartmentation: Implementing fire compartmentation measures to contain and prevent the spread of fire within a structure
  • fire stopping: Applying fire stopping materials to seal gaps and penetrations in buildings, maintaining the integrity of fire-resistance-rated assemblies
  • installation and replacement of fire doors: Precise fitting and installation of fire-rated doors to prevent the spread of fire and smoke in buildings
  • receive instructions from the site manager or supervisor and carry out repairs
  • undertake general maintenance such as tiling, carpentry, plumbing, painting and decorating, snagging, window repairs
  • operate within Health & Safety and site guidelines
  • aim to achieve a first time fix where possible to achieve customer satisfaction
  • record your work and submit completed work log of plots and undertaken work
  • prepared to work at heights using ladders, scaffolding and work in confined spaces and in a variety of work conditions that may prevail at that time
  • complete weekly house checks
  • complete weekly ground checks

  • the Maintenance Person will report to the Estate Director and/or Team Manager with direct communication with the principals
  • maintain garden terraces including removing any fallen leaves and keep irrigation facilities in good repair
  • taking the lead on all the maintenance of all electronic systems and equipment
  • general maintenance of the tenanted properties within the companies portfolio
  • conduct inspections of properties to identify and address maintenance issues
  • respond promptly to maintenance requests from tenants and property management
