Requirements


  • experience of working in a support role, both in the community and the home
  • sensory based activity experience
  • the role involves working with a 25 year old young woman who has an acquired brain injury and is registered blind
  • she requires a female support worker due to the level of personal care involved
  • she lives in Wembley with her family and attends day care provision in the week in the local area
  • £16.00 - £18.00 per hour

Responsibility


  • to attend supervision, team meetings and other meetings with the employer and other persons as nominated by the employer

  • A fantastic opportunity to work with this amazing 9 year old girl who has severe visual impairment
  • she requires assistance to help her to develop independent living skills and to conduct after school activities
  • she requires collecting from school and taking to the theatre school on some occasions
  • use of Wi-Fi technology is an advantage as the client uses different devices for education and communication
  • previous experience working with someone who is visually impaired will be advantageous

  • she will require somebody to assist her with her homework, prepare meals and to conduct fun activities around the home. The therapy team can help to train the Support worker in the use of visual impairment aids
  • an average of 24 hours per week
  • carry out day-to-day administration and other operational duties as required

  • undertake additional duties and responsibilities in consultation with your Line Manager
  • participate in team meetings, attend regular supervisions and reflective practice sessions
