Requirements

  • registered with the relevant social work regulatory body
  • degree of equivalent qualification in Social Work
  • proven experience in child and family support, assessment, and case management
  • registration with Social Care England
  • strong understanding of relevant legislation and policies
  • social Work England registration
  • eligible to work in the UK
  • degree level or equivalent in Social Work
  • 2 years+ post-qualified experience
  • A recognised Social Work qualification
  • A competitive pay rate of up to £38 per hour
  • A valid Social Work England registration

Responsibility


  • the social worker will be required to attend office and undertake visits within Carmarthenshire

  • undertake work within legislative frameworks including the preparation of written statements and representations to the judiciary at Court hearings
  • you will identify and assess levels of risk and need in often complex situations
  • hold and effectively manage a complex and varied caseload with appropriate supervision, guidance, and support, reflecting the function of the team and the Vulnerable People Service in accordance with policy, procedures, guidance and legislation
  • you will be accountable for complex decision making in relation to caseloads ensuring professional judgement, service user involvement, needs led assessment, critical reflection, and analysis to inform this
  • manage a complex caseload
  • carry a complex workload
  • undertake Safeguarding and PLO work
  • mentoring and supporting the practice development of less experience Social Workers
  • ensure records are kept up to date to the highest standards
  • aid in the formulation of care plans for children and families
  • undertake assessments and manage risk to children and young people in more complex situations
  • work effectively with connected services to ensure the best out comes are met for children and families
