  • answer telephone and email enquiries professionally and accurately
  • restock books and merchandise, checking books are priced, alphabetised, and in the correct sections and ensuring shelves are dust-free and tidy

Responsibility


  • handling sales enquiries and correspondence with clients from our website, phone calls, and catalogues
  • assisting in-store customers and visitors, providing a high level of service and knowledgeable advice
  • permanent – Full time
  • represent the business at trade fairs
  • reviewing catalogue descriptions of rare books, manuscripts, and related materials
  • the role will be primarily client-facing, and you’ll be working alongside our rare book specialists in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • location: Mayfair, London

  • peter Harrington Limited, an established antiquarian bookseller with a global presence, employing over 60 staff, are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate bookseller for our Mayfair branch
  • hours: alternating 10.00–18.00 and 11.00–19.00. Five days per week, to include alternate Saturdays
  • the first three months of employment will entail training, for which you will be based at both our Chelsea and Mayfair branches
  • accepting deliveries
  • fulfilment of orders and dispatching the orders in a busy warehouse environment
  • accurately check the item against the customer’s order
  • assist in the loading and organizing of deliveries daily
  • accurately pack and dispatch customer orders to locations
  • working within a physically demanding environment
