mig welder
Responsibility
- studies engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences
- may chip off excess weld, slag and splatter
- perform welding work involving a high degree of precision
- welding if flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions
- repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts
- may manually apply filler rod to supply weld metal
- candidates will be required to work in confined spaces both on board naval ships and in a shop environment
- utilizing FCAW, GMAW, GMAW-P, & SMAW
Requirements
- MIG welding: 3 years
- fabrication: 1 year
