Requirements


  • BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent
  • membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB
  • ideally 5 years of experience within this role/field
  • experienced with NEC3/4 contracts
  • we are looking for someone to come from a Civil Engineering / Earth Works / Rail / Highways / Water / Energy background

Responsibility


  • as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be managing all costs from the initial calculations to the final figures, minimising the costs of the project and enhancing value for money - for a specific section of HS2
  • price new tenders
  • follow up on bids with the view to get projects to site/live
  • price / Take off / Measure from drawings or use bespoke software
  • produce bills of quantities
  • implement new processes and assist in digitising commercial procedures
  • value engineering to maximise margins for contracts
  • our client have an exciting position for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team working for National Highways
  • this role will be site based/hybrid
  • the role holder will report to and be supported by the Managing QS
  • responsibilities and Accountabilities Responsibilities – but not limited to
  • price and submission of quotations for works on maintenance contracts
  • liaise with operational staff including clients and subcontractors
  • ensure scheme costs are correct on cost system and raise and queries where necessary
  • attend internal / external meetings
  • manage subcontract supply chain, issuing orders assessing Subcontract AFPs and the processing of payments
