Responsibility


  • overseeing all commercial aspects of a project from start to finish
  • preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or client
  • undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project
  • assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies
  • performing risk and value management and cost control
  • advising on procurement strategy
  • allocating work to subcontractors
  • providing advice on contractual claims
  • valuing completed work and arranging payments
  • maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use
  • understanding the implications of health and safety regulations
  • arranging payments to suppliers and contractors
  • estimating the cost of plant and equipment
  • develop their engineering survey teams to meet project needs
  • act as an advisor in relation to the Council’s land and property assets affected by various projects
  • review the commercial portfolio and deal with disposals arising from inception through to completion
  • provide property surveying services primarily across the homecare directorate but also in supporting the wider business as and when required
  • contribute to asset optimisation efforts by participating in ongoing asset rationalisation and review activities
  • develop and nurture relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, collaborating to achieve strategic goals
  • contribute to the development and growth of a professional property team within the council
