Requirements


  • degree educated, ideally in Construction, Legal or Business Administration related
  • "Estate Officer"
  • "Estates Officer"
  • HNC/ONC or equivalent Mechanical Engineering discipline with post qualification experience
  • authorised Person
  • experience in managing complex engineering and operational services within a large estates function
  • full UK Driving Licence
  • experience in a public sector of NHS organisation

Responsibility


  • manage and oversee construction, renovation, and maintenance projects across our Family’s properties in the UK, Europe and further afield
  • review, design, and implement internal policies and processes to support the Family’s lifestyle and day-to-day activities efficiently
  • oversee office employees, direct reports, household staff, and drivers, handling recruitment, HR matters, work schedules, evaluations, etc
  • you will actively participate in the implementation, operation and improvement of CAFM software, identifying and utilising methods to monitor work streams and gaps in compliance
  • manage a team of multi-skilled engineers and Assistants
  • organise PPM schedules and allocated reactive work
  • organise Health and Safety documents on site and auditing sites to ensure compliance to strict NHS standards
  • responsible for overseeing contractors and ensuring there work is complaint to strict standards
  • manage minor works projects like fit outs and refurbishments, up to around £50,000
  • ensure employees are efficient and getting work done on time and to strict standards
  • allocate work depending on priority and urgency
  • ideally a mechanical bias/prior NHS Experience
  • undertake the role of Responsible or Nominated Person as set down in appropriate regulatory and advisory compliance frameworks.  These areas will be identified and agreed in writing after which appropriate training will be provided and updated
  • we are looking for the right person to join our Property Services Team at North Devon Council as an Estates Officer, based at the Brynsworthy Environment Centre, Barnstaple
  • as part of a busy Property team, you will be responsible for the management of the Corporate Property Estate and the provision of a landlord and tenant, valuation and agency service, as well as be involved in the delivery of the Council’s projects, working with internal teams and external consultants to deliver on the Council’s corporate objectives
