  • A full UK driving licence and access to a car to get to work
  • experience of supporting vulnerable young people within a residential care environment, or another professional setting
  • you will be compassionate, resilient and committed to being a positive role model
  • able to do overnight sleep-ins which are part of the role
  • NVQ level 3 in children's health and social care or equivalent or willing to work towards
  • NVQ level 3 in children's health and social care or equivalent
  • experience as a Senior support worker or Deputy Manager
  • confident in managing challenging behaviours
  • must hold a current Driving Licence and have access to own vehicle
  • evidence of continuing professional development, aligned to any relevant Professional Competency/Capability frameworks or Knowledge and Skills Statements
  • significant experience of social work, demonstrating a comprehensive and up to date understanding of all relevant legislation, regulation and guidance
  • experience of chairing meetings involving clients, family members and/or carers and other multi-agency professionals
  • in depth understanding of delivery of value for money interventions balanced against need
  • A recognised social work qualification i.e. Diploma, degree or Masters in social work, CQSW, CSS or equivalent, with current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a registered social worker
  • proven track record of clear decision making in order to highlight and limit the potential risks associated with intervention
  • experience of mentoring both Social Work students and newly qualified and experienced Social Work staff, being a subject matter expert in professional social work practice
  • developing strong relationships with partners, other agencies and the local community to achieve joint objectives and offer a supportive framework for children, young people and families
  • A full and relevant Level level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare/CYPW
  • satisfactory DBS check
  • hold UK Driving Licence is desirable, but not essential

Responsibility


  • actively contributing to team working, supporting colleagues, covering for colleagues in their absence and taking part in team meetings
  • carrying out duty work; making referrals and Assessments
  • to Support the Registered Manager with the day to day running of the home

  • complete and update risk assessments

  • attend meeting for the young person
  • have an in-depth knowledge about OFSTED and regulations
  • must have knowledge of Domiciliary care provision to include completing rotas, supporting Care staff with duty and emergency situations
  • as part of a senior team to support and develop an Urgent Care service in order to meet the requirements of service initiatives and developments
  • responsible for providing a source of expert advice and professional supervision for social workers and contributing to the development of practice standards
