Requirements

A full UK driving licence and access to a car to get to work
experience of supporting vulnerable young people within a residential care environment, or another professional setting
you will be compassionate, resilient and committed to being a positive role model
able to do overnight sleep-ins which are part of the role
NVQ level 3 in children's health and social care or equivalent or willing to work towards
NVQ level 3 in children's health and social care or equivalent
experience as a Senior support worker or Deputy Manager
confident in managing challenging behaviours
must hold a current Driving Licence and have access to own vehicle
evidence of continuing professional development, aligned to any relevant Professional Competency/Capability frameworks or Knowledge and Skills Statements
significant experience of social work, demonstrating a comprehensive and up to date understanding of all relevant legislation, regulation and guidance
experience of chairing meetings involving clients, family members and/or carers and other multi-agency professionals
in depth understanding of delivery of value for money interventions balanced against need
A recognised social work qualification i.e. Diploma, degree or Masters in social work, CQSW, CSS or equivalent, with current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a registered social worker
proven track record of clear decision making in order to highlight and limit the potential risks associated with intervention
experience of mentoring both Social Work students and newly qualified and experienced Social Work staff, being a subject matter expert in professional social work practice
developing strong relationships with partners, other agencies and the local community to achieve joint objectives and offer a supportive framework for children, young people and families
A full and relevant Level level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare/CYPW
satisfactory DBS check
hold UK Driving Licence is desirable, but not essential

Responsibility

must have knowledge of Domiciliary care provision to include completing rotas, supporting Care staff with duty and emergency situations
as part of a senior team to support and develop an Urgent Care service in order to meet the requirements of service initiatives and developments
responsible for providing a source of expert advice and professional supervision for social workers and contributing to the development of practice standards
