Requirements


  • residential Childcare: 2 years
  • A company led and directed by expert Social Workers, OFSTED professionals and Nurses to support you on a day-today basis
  • experience of working with young people with neurodiversity, trauma, mental health issues, and behaviours that challenge
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in residential children’s care, working alongside young people, including 1 year managing and supervising staff
  • able to commit to a rolling rota that will include nights
  • experience of leading a staff team and ensuring delivery of a consistently high quality of care
  • strong leadership and mentoring abilities
  • resilience, problem-solving skills, and a genuine passion for helping children
  • commitment to safeguarding and achieving outstanding outcomes
  • level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare
  • professional experience of vulnerable children or young people who show challenging behaviours
  • work within a therapeutic community or therapeutic childcare setting
  • understanding of emotional distance and regulation of emotional distance
  • recognises achievements of others and provides genuine / authentic praise
  • level 3 Diploma or equivalent in Children and Young People’s Workforce
  • full UK Driving Licence
  • flexibility to work on a rota basis including sleep ins
  • at least 1 years’ experience of leading shifts in a children’s residential setting
  • you must undertake our Crisis prevention institute training
  • this training provides you with fundamental knowledge around understanding trauma, de-escalation techniques, communication skills and safety interventions, inclusive of restrictive holds

  • supervise and undertake lead key-working responsibilities, including primary responsibility for overseeing the implementation and adaptation of young people’s risk assessments and in house placement and care plan
  • accurately record and update information in care plans
  • promote positive care practices by modelling and supporting good standards aligned with the home's goals
  • ensure young people participate in care planning and reviews
  • demonstrate sensitivity, resilience, and assertiveness in challenging situations, coaching staff as needed
  • communicate effectively with parents, family, social workers, and visitors
  • ensure reports are consistently completed and accessible
  • assist in creating, updating, and implementing individual care plans
  • act as a key worker, providing regular key work sessions
  • support the House Manager in preparing reports, including Quality of Care
  • deputise for the House Manager in meetings and reviews
  • liaise and work closely with the Household Manager and Deputy Household Manager about the day-to-day running of the household
  • have oversight, provide leadership and emotional holding for children and colleagues on shifts worked
  • communication and coordination across the site as part of the senior practitioner group
  • provide, role model and oversee the provision of high-quality key working practice
  • role model and provide appropriate therapeutic relationships with the children according to the Mulberry Bush Model of Practice
