Responsibility

to be responsible for the supervision of student social workers in the role of Practice Educator
to support other practitioners in the team through mentoring, coaching, advice, and shadowing on visits or in meetings
undertake work within legislative frameworks including the preparation of written statements and representations to the judiciary at Court hearings
to accommodate children and young people and initiate care proceedings when appropriate
to deliver a restorative, relational approach to practice and supervision, utilising systemic tools and interventions within the Newham Together Practice Framework

to produced quality courts statements and when required, give evidence in court on behalf of the Local Authority
to have responsibility for a caseload of more complex cases within the team and demonstrate appropriate initiative commensurate to the skills and knowledge required for the post consistently applying high standards to deliver good outcomes for children
to champion our priorities and obsessions to improve the lives of children families and care leavers
to work as part of a multi-agency team, ensuring integration and seamless delivery of services to service users and their carers
to assist and direct social care workers in assessing the needs of individuals, developing Reablement plans where appropriate,, planning individualised budgets and monitoring their progress
to support the Service Manager in ensuring the workload of the service is prioritised appropriately and is allocated to social care workers, making best use of their skills and capability
ensure risk management and adult safeguarding is effectively embedded within practice and responded to appropriately. Be aware of any potential children’s safeguarding concerns and liaise as appropriate with Children’s Social Care Services taking into account children’s safeguarding procedure
to assist in the supervision and appraisal of social care workers and encourage their professional development and ensure consistent social work practice
act as “Safeguarding Adults Manager” in designated cases; ensuring that all aspects of the safeguarding process has been carried out and has been appropriately concluded
