  • having a valid, full driving UK licence is essential

  • QCF level 3 in Health and Social Care children and young people or equivalent
  • QCF level 3 in Residential Child care
  • QCF level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • QCF level 3 in Health and Social Care children and young people or equivalent within 2 years of confirmation of employment
  • takes responsibility for own development
  • working knowledge of caring for vulnerable children in a residential setting Knowledge of equal opportunities & diversity
  • working knowledge of caring for vulnerable children in a residential setting
  • ability to manage multiple tasks and cope under pressure
  • SVQ 3 & HNC in Social Care or equivalent or willing to work towards
  • PVG must be supplied
  • experience of working within services of young people
  • good communication skills
  • wide knowledge of the behaviours displayed by children and young people and an understanding of a myriad of intervention strategies
  • knowledge and understanding of the principles of teamwork
  • awareness of legislation in relation to childcare including Health and Social Care standards 2018, Children Act 1995, GIRFEC

Responsibility


  • staff will be required to work between our Airdrie and Blackwood campus
  • we are seeking to recruit enthusiastic, energetic, caring and committed individuals to join our care team
  • st Philip’s School provides specialist Residential Care and Education to young people aged 10 – 18 years, who have a range of additional support needs, including social, emotional and behavioural development
  • we are currently recruiting for Residential Child Care Workers as we develop and expand the range of services available to our young people
  • applicants with a current UK Driving License would be desirable
  • successful candidates must have HNC Social Care/SVQ 3 or working towards this
  • as a Residential Child Care Worker you will have the proven ability to develop positive, nurturing relationships with young people and their families
  • successful applicants will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within the first six months of employment
  • you must have knowledge of the care planning process and case working and be willing to go the extra mile in supporting our young people
