Requirements


  • A strong eye for design and aesthetics, with experience in interior design or visual merchandising
  • understanding of framing materials, design options, and how to enhance the presentation of artworks
  • excellent organisational and administrative skills, including proficiency in Excel
  • proven ability to manage and inspire a team, maintaining high standards and meeting deadlines
  • strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships with clients and colleagues
  • experience in retail management, including visual merchandising and stock control, is highly desirable
  • hands-on experience in picture framing, carpentry, or joinery is a plus but not required
  • familiarity with gessoing, gilding, or veneer work is highly advantageous
  • proficiency in using hand tools and power tools
  • knowledge of carpentry techniques for framing construction
  • ability to fabricate custom frames based on specific requirements
  • experience with painting or finishing frames
  • strong attention to detail and precision in measurements
  • capability to work with electrical equipment related to framing tasks
  • experience in using picture framing machinery. Experience of other types of woodworking machinery may be useful

Responsibility


  • advise clients on framing options that complement their artworks, offering expert guidance focusing on design and aesthetics
  • manage the framing department, overseeing team workflows to ensure exceptional quality and timely delivery of projects
  • curate and manage the small gift shop, creating an inviting and visually appealing retail space
  • ensure that both the framing workshop and the gift shop are clean, organised, and well-stocked with materials and inventory
  • occasionally assist with heavy lifting when handling large or bulky artworks
  • liaise with the main shop to place orders that align with the aesthetic of both the gift shop and Green & Stone’s overall style
  • maintain a clean and organized workspace
