  • teaching: 1 year
  • cheltenham: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work
  • A valid DBS check is mandatory
  • previous experience in teaching young people is crucial for this role
  • CRB/DBS required and experience teaching young people is vital. Any information with the schools or organisations you are currently teaching within would also be useful to us
  • job Type: Part-time
  • part-time hours: 1 per week
  • this is a long term position to cover the 3 academic terms per year starting Friday 27th September 2024
  • must be confident teaching young children and have experience
  • you need to teach all three disciplines of singing, dance and drama
  • must have current DBS and on the update service; happy to apply for you if you do not have this
  • proven experience as a dance instructor or dancer in a professional setting
  • strong knowledge of various dance styles, such as ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, or contemporary
  • ability to demonstrate dance techniques and movements effectively
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with students of all ages
  • patience and the ability to motivate and inspire students
  • organizational skills to plan lessons and manage class schedules
  • proven experience in teaching dance to beginners
  • ability to inspire and engage primary age students
  • proficiency in a variety of dance styles

Responsibility


  • conduct classes for students of varying ages and skill levels, providing clear instruction and guidance
  • develop and implement creative and engaging lesson plans that align with the needs and abilities of the students
  • foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and creativity
  • assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs
  • the role is for 3 hours each Saturday 10-1 and possibly 2-5 from Summer
  • the desired applicant should be someone who loves working with children and is able to provide fun and motivating classes and able to progress students to performances
