Requirements


  • occupational health experience
  • RGN registration - preferably part 3
  • health surveillance experience
  • health Screening
  • case Management
  • phlebotomy experience
  • qualified Registered General Nurse on Part 1 of the NMC register
  • qualification on Occupational Health Nursing
  • hold a recordable/registered Nurse qualification or is an OT registered with HCPC
  • experience in administration and using administrative management systems
  • nursing and Midwifery Council Registration and qualification leading to registration on Part 3 of the NMC Register
  • experience of delivering clinical services, health surveillance and immunisation
  • experience of developing services for customers and maintaining good customer relationships
  • experience of developing effective clinical policies and procedures
  • excellent customer focused communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact on a number of levels throughout the organisation
  • excellent levels of literacy and numeracy, to enable accurate report writing and contribute to policy development and audit
  • experience of assessing occupational health needs,planning and implementing effective strategies and of providing written and oral advice to managers and employees on the impact of work on health and health on work
  • strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in the face of competing demands
  • you’ve handled diverse cases, allowing you to make informed decisions that benefit both employees and the business
  • you're able to apply these practically in the workplace, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all

Responsibility


  • deliver a proactive health service that protects and promotes the physical and psychological wellbeing of all employees
  • carry out the full remit of an Occupational Health Advisor, including health screening, health surveillance, case management
  • meet different challenges of projects or work streams, and demonstrate excellent organisational and IT skills in response to changing business needs
  • lead on projects and drive service delivery improvements
  • deliver good case management reports, health surveillance activities, prioritise and manage your time effectively
  • build and maintain strong working relationships across functions of HR, Safety and the wider business and respond appropriately to give expert guidance in the field of OH
  • work well within a team, and as an OHA support to assist the development of the OH technicians, and the wider OH team
  • provide clinical advice to support the wellbeing strategy, including wellbeing initiatives across the annual calendar, and assist or deliver regular manager training activities
  • to give advice and guidance to managers and employees on Occupational Health in line with corporate policy and procedure
  • to promote the Service Vision, ‘Creating the Safest Community’
  • to support the development of the corporate Occupational Health service
  • to work effectively and efficiently to provide a professional service in the delivery of the department’s aims and objectives
  • to support the delivery of strategic H&S/ HR/Occupational Health initiatives and projects
  • to attend and contribute to internal and cross service working groups and external meetings as required
  • to proactively maintain positive and effective liaison links with organisations and partners as appropriate
