Requirements


  • experience working in a safety critical industry, preferably Rail
  • previous wokring experience of interaction between HF and Safety
  • human Error Analysis experience essential
  • HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent in Psychology, Ergonomics, Human Factors or a related discipline
  • driving License
  • experience in employing human factors techniques in design. For example, Human Factors Integration, workload analysis, HMI design, user and stakeholder engagement, workstation layout, control room design, and maintainability
  • 5+ years experience of application of anthropometric data with SammieCAD or equivalent Ergonomic assessment tool. Should have own licence/software

Responsibility


  • ensure the smooth and effective integration of human factors throughout design, development and implementation
  • produce a human factors integration plans to ensure HF methods and activities are suitably integrated with other project activities and conducted at the appropriate time, using suitable methods
  • participate in the formal reviews of project or product documentation, as required by the company process
  • attend and where required chair customer and user group sessions, to obtain feedback on the proposed user interfaces
  • deliver ergonomics training to internal customer groups and participate in development of future training formats
  • participate in research to develop improved Production Ergonomics Standards
  • conduct ergonomics assessment audits with write up and follow up as per agreed requirements
  • support internal customer groups , Manufacturing Engineering , Plant Launch, and Current Manufacturing) with their compliance with the Production Ergonomics procedure, company procedures and relevant local legislation
  • undertake ergonomics assessments either in a physical workplace or using relevant software and / or motion capture technology and report findings to customers
