Responsibility


  • undertake necessary repairs and replacements as required
  • oversee and maintain the kitchen facilities, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition
  • conduct routine inspections and maintenance of electronic systems within the facility
  • stay up to date with industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices related to lighting systems for roads and highways, and use this knowledge to inform project design and implementation
  • ensure that lighting systems are designed, installed, and maintained in compliance with relevant regulations and standards
  • communication: Effective communication skills are essential for liaising with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the required quality standards
  • observe, follow and maintain the integrity of all safe systems across site and follow any safety instructions, as required
  • deliver improvement engineering through the use of structured problem solving techniques and applying engineering technical knowledge
  • assist and support operators to undertake low level engineering tasks in structured process
  • develop standard operating procedures and support production activities to improve equipment performance
  • to support engineering and operations as directed when required
  • ensure compliance with engineering visual standards, where applicable
  • ensure that breakdowns are attended promptly and resolved properly, using all the resources at your disposal
  • assist with the Consultation with Councillors to inform programmes of work
  • obtain and interpret internal data from Highway Inspectors regarding the condition of network to inform programmes of works
  • assist with the management of highway’s condition surveys in accordance with Department for Transport requirements to obtain an accurate and true representation of the condition of the highway network
  • using detailed highway network condition data to develop and assemble structural maintenance programmes to maintain and improve the highway network
  • using the term service contracts to assist the Highway Asset Manager to deliver the required services for the maintenance and improvement of the Council’s highway network

  • repairing/Replacing leaky faucets, Repairing/Replacing light bulbs and fixtures
