Requirements


  • must have CCNSG card or course booked before start date
  • proof of qualifications and certificates
  • tractor driving: 1 year
  • CPCS or NPORS Card
  • HGV Class 1
  • fit To Work Medical
  • full PPE
  • previous onsite experience
  • two working references
  • 3-5 years of experience driving tractor trailers
  • strong understanding of scheduling, dispatch, logistics, transportation, and warehouse operations
  • valid Tractor Trailer License
  • ability to obtain a Dock Pass
  • valid certification in counterbalanced forklift, high lift, scissor, and boom lift operations
  • comfortable working in high-paced environments
  • eager to learn and able to follow instructions effectively
  • positive and proactive attitude
  • strong verbal communication skills
  • tractor operating: 1 year
  • A valid CPCS/NPORS licence

Responsibility


  • follow instructions and work orders from the manager/dispatch
  • secure cargo items and machinery on trucks and trailers for safe transport
  • load and offload containers onto chassis when required
  • maintain radio contact with the manager and dispatcher to receive updates or new assignments
  • notify the manager of any maintenance or repairs needed on trucks and complete necessary work orders
  • clean the interior and exterior of trucks as needed
  • report any road incidents that may cause delays or impact scheduling
  • adhere to all traffic laws while operating company vehicles
  • maintain regular communication with dispatch regarding job arrival and completion times
  • keep accurate records of time, job details, and any necessary documentation when required
  • ideally we are looking fro somebody who has experience carrying out this role on a previous site
  • we are currently looking for a Tractor Driver who has an in date CPCS ticket to work on a new housing site
  • this particular role will be working alongside a subcontractor to ensure that dust suppression is continuously carried out during the earthworks phase of the build
  • perform routine maintenance checks on the ADT to ensure its proper functioning
  • operate the the machine in compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
