Requirements

blackheath Prep is an independent prep school for around 370 students aged 3 to 11
founded in 1996, it occupies a beautiful five-acre site close to Blackheath village
in April 2023 we were delighted to announce our merger with Eltham College to form a family of schools
the successful candidate will possess previous experience of working in a similar role and have a general knowledge of grounds maintenance
its original Georgian and Victorian buildings have been extended and adapted to include large playgrounds and extensive playing fields, tennis courts, cricket nets and a Forest School area
although not required, previous experience working within the education sector would be advantageous

Responsibility

to be responsible for allocated ground maintenance tasks from start to completion, including scoping the task, pricing and ordering materials, liaising with the customer, undertaking the work personally or co-ordinating and supervising others to ensure timely completion
to support match day operations
delivery of high-quality grounds maintenance service to all sites to the highest standard, in line with policies, legislative, environmental and certifying authorities’ compliance and best practice
grounds maintenance around all sites
maintenance of amenity areas surrounding the Academy
working with and contributing to a multi-disciplinary maintenance team
working between more than one dedicated site, and as required by the needs of the business
driving of multiple gang mowers, verti-drain machinery, tractors, subject to training and relevant certification
collection of litter and leaves around the building and the playing surfaces
weeding of all curb lines and plant beds
following training to carry out multiple work tasks without supervision, within limits of responsibility
assistance with Stadium of Light and Hetton Centre pitch maintenance as required
