Requirements


  • arboriculture
  • tree Surgeon
  • arborist
  • candidates must have a level 2 qualification in arboriculture, or relevant working experience in Arboriculture
  • good tree and pest identification, knowledge of tree surgery operations and industry best practice, and knowledge of Health and Safety
  • excellent communication skills, telephone manner and experience dealing with enquiries and complaints
  • ability to develop, implement and improve administrative systems
  • willingness to learn use of specialist software for tree inventory and planning applications
  • ability to prioritise and organise own workload and to work on own initiative
  • team work and ability to establish good working relationships with contractors and colleagues across various sites and services

Responsibility


  • to assist in monitoring the performance of Contractors in all tree work including the care, maintenance and planting of trees, and to ensure specifications are fully complied with

  • providing comprehensive administrative support and office management duties for the Arboricultural Team
  • providing a customer-focused front line reception service for the Parks Office
  • liaising with council departments, external and internal stakeholders and members of the public
  • raising Purchase Orders or Invoices and maintaining records by budget holders working closely with our Finance team
  • other tasks as assigned by Head of Service or Senior Arboricultural Officer
  • logging calls and answering enquiries, recording complaints, process planning applications from WBC Planning Department and assist with developing admin processes for the team
