Responsibility


  • ensuring milking cows are fed at the correct time for maximum performance
  • manage the milking rota, ensuring all milking cows are milked twice a day at a reasonable split
  • supporting the youngstock team by carrying out calf rearing tasks
  • feeding the youngstock when required, on different youngstock units
  • hauling cattle, transporting them from unit to unit safely
  • hauling manure
  • handling youngstock to enable vaccinations and footbaths etc
  • keeping the yard tidy. Always adhering to health & safety protocols
  • basic tractor & machinery driving
  • grazing management – Ensuring efficient grazing rotations and pasture utilisation
  • milking leadership – Overseeing parlour operations and maintaining high milk production standards
  • stock health and performance – Monitoring and optimising herd welfare
  • team leadership – Leading and developing staff to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
  • technical skills – AI and foot trimming
  • ensure that operational areas are clean and maintained
