Requirements


  • mainstream
  • hold a relevant teaching assistant qualification
  • have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
  • have previous experience of working with children in the last 2 years
  • excellent knowledge of the full curriculum and assessment frameworks
  • previous EYFS, KS1, KS2 experience
  • previous EYFS, KS1, KS2, KS3 and KS4 experience
  • previous KS1, KS2 experience
  • experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs
  • two references working with children
  • hold a current DBS that is registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one
  • teaching Assistant
  • an understanding of classroom activities and practises and the ability to deliver these effectively
  • A compassionate and positive attitude
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • outstanding interpersonal abilities
  • prior SEND knowledge, ideally confidence with Autism & Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties
  • ability to observe, record and feedback information on students academic achievements and behaviour as required
  • willingness to administer personal care
  • ability to encourage student participation and performance

Responsibility


  • supporting the children with Learning Difficulties and Autism to a high level of care
  • to work under the instructions of the teacher
  • supporting the children’s needs and demands as well as emotional well-being
  • helping to develop students skills both personally and academically
  • supporting in structured activities to support the students development in all areas of the curriculum
  • providing a safe learning environment for all students to learn in
  • to be consistent in managing behaviour
  • using visual materials to support the children
  • supporting children with social, emotional and academic development
  • leading individual and small group intervention sessions
  • supporting the class teacher with managing class behaviour
  • providing 1:1 support to pupils with SEN in Year 3
  • help maintain an engaging and stimulating environment for students
  • aide teachers with appropriate lesson planning to meet all student needs
  • observe and report back to teachers on students' progress
  • work in groups or 1:1 with students that require extra support
