Requirements


  • FRCPath or equivalent
  • MD or PhD
  • evidence of completed training programme in Cellular Pathology
  • specific experience at a consultant level in the cut-up and reporting dermatological excision specimens
  • participation in clinical audit and attendance at appropriate courses
  • proven and published audits
  • ability to teach pathology to trainees, undergraduate medical students and biomedical scientists
  • able to collaborate in an active research programme
  • able to be a dynamic team member within the department and to contribute broadly to the running of the department
  • specialist experience in gastrointestinal and urological histopathology
  • willingness to participate in research and clinical trial work
  • record of completed research. Published peer-reviewed papers in sub-speciality areas
  • ability to work flexibly within specialist teams, to take responsibility, lead and make decisions where appropriate

  • ability to see patients as people, ability to empathise and work co-operatively with others
  • if an applicant is non-UK trained, they will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT
  • MBBS or equivalent
  • full and Specialist registration with the General Medical Council or be eligible for registration within six months of interview
  • candidates must be eligible to hold membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons , and have a postgraduate qualification in Veterinary Clinical Pathology
  • bachelor of Science and certified member of Speech Pathology Australia or ability to register with assistance

Responsibility


  • contribute to the delivery of a timely diagnostic service in clinical pathology, with an emphasis on cytology reporting
  • you’ll enjoy and or have experience of working in a laboratory following protocols and standard operating procedures
  • assist with the production of media and buffers where necessary
