  • health & Safety
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
  • certificate in Education / PGCE
  • experience of scheduling and developing short- and long-term training plans
  • experience of delivering training using a range of media and delivery techniques
  • experience of workshop and training content and creation and session planning
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
  • level 3 Award in Adult Education & Training, or equivalent
  • level 3 Award in Assessing Vocational Achievement, or equivalent
  • safety, health and environment experience
  • experience in course design and maintenance
  • demonstrable experience in delivering safety compliance training in an operational / industrial environment
  • able to effectively use IT, including MS packages
  • CMIOSH, or working towards
  • experienced in delivering IOSH, NEBOSH and/or CITB awards
  • in possession of a training qualification
  • ideally have consultancy experience
  • first class attitude in dealing with students, clients, and colleagues
  • applicants must have British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Individual Counsellor Accreditation / UKCP Registration or equivalent body e.g
  • experience of working within the Higher Education sector

Responsibility


  • development of a performance focused culture that emphasises collaboration, accountability, and compliance obligations
  • driving the organisations behavioural safety culture by raising awareness and leading by example
  • consult with awarding bodies
  • liaise with awarding bodies
  • preparation of all handouts and supporting learning media for courses
  • assist in the development and refresh of internal health and safety training courses
  • working with the National Lead for Health & Safety-Training, develop an annual National Health & Safety training plan, based on Area and National requirements
  • contribute to the development and delivery of a behavioural safety learning programme
  • working with the National Lead for Health & Safety -Training, develop an annual National Health & Safety training plan, based on Area and National requirements
  • demonstrate Health & Safety leadership behaviours to continually develop our Safety Culture ensuring all our employees and those we serve go home safe every day
  • contribute to development and delivery of a behavioural safety learning programme
  • deliver Health & Safety training, in line with central training plan and agreed presentations, to the Area / Function teams as required
  • deploy a range of learning methodologies to support capability development g. e-learning, coaching, classroom, blended solutions
  • to maintain the standards set by the relevant associations and awarding bodies to ensure training delivery compliance
  • day-to-day, you’ll be working to provide Safety, Health and Environment support to Babcock to ensure we are legally compliant, maintain our safe systems of work and that our workforce remains healthy and injury free
  • as a HSW Trainer, you'll remain current with academic knowledge through relationships with institutes and maintain continuous professional development, collate and analyse delegate feedback to review and update course content
  • deliver training and assessment in line with the awarding body policies and procedures, across the Transportation estate
  • to contribute to the development and delivery of mental health training and continuous development of mental health and wellbeing agents at the University including Mental Health First Aiders and Wellbeing Champions
