A minimum of a Batchelor's Degree in Engineering
design and construction of major civil engineering works
marine environment would be ideal but not essential
experience providing expert advice to the sub-contracted design houses to enable them to develop designs
high hazard facilities in the nuclear sector

you'll need a degree or equivalent in a Civil, Mechanical or Electrical engineering discipline and will be a Chartered Engineer

support the 14 Dock Readiness Design Manager to implement the project approach to Health, Safety and Environmental issues as applicable to design
this a technical Client Design Management role, where the Client is the Principal Designer, leading an Integration team who support the Integration of a number of externally produced designs
in addition the integration team are also responsible for Overall Facility Layout, the capability of that Layout to deliver the submarine maintenance capability, the management of the Health, Safety and Environment aspects of the overall design, the management of the Human Factors aspects, and leading the overall facility Fire Engineering and Security strategies

Responsibility

be an authority across these fields, provide direction and support for your own team and the wider design team
management of the multidisciplinary design elements of the buildings, ensuring designer technical performance and making appropriate technical responses
provide Subject Matter Expert advice
responsible for integration of design across the proposed 5 Basin East Wall Centre and South Facility
provide Technical design guidance and review of the overall design packages including safety functional requirements as defined in the Safety Case
plan for effective project implementation, identifying key factors and supporting the leadership of the project's technical planning process
this includes management of requirements, interfaces, human factors, security, fire, emergency arrangements, facility level design deliverables and review activities e.g
provide Technical design guidance and review integration of the designs with other design packages
functional Activity Reviews
ensuring effective Quality Management Arrangements, operate and deliver through compliance with Babcock's Business Management System and Technical Manual
co-ordinate the operational aspects of the system designs into an overall facility operational concept to demonstrate functional capability
plan for effective project implementation, identifying key factors and effectively contributing to the project's technical planning process
manage the design process from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with client specifications, relevant regulations and standards
lead and coordinate design meetings with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors
reviewing and comment on design information in conjunction with the Design Manager
assist in developing Design Delivery Schedule along with the client, Project Manager, Design team and consultants
review and approve design documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness and quality
manage and coordinate external consultants
generate Contractors Proposals in conjunction with the Design Manager
ensure consultants prepare the detailed design by Employers Requirements and Contractors Proposals
