Requirements


  • no more than 3 live penalty points on their current driving license
  • experience from a patient-focused environment
  • experience from a patient-focused environment is desirable
  • ideally, good geographical knowledge of the London area
  • full UK Manual driving licence
  • bank account in the UK
  • good communication skills
  • A minimum of 2-year PTS experience is preferable but not essential
  • patient Transport: 2 years
  • have the right to work in the UK - UNFORTUNATLEY WE DO NOT SPONSOR
  • A full UK driving licence is essential
  • A caring and understanding nature, with friendly manner
  • A calm and considerate driver with good knowledge of UK road signs and the Highway Code
  • you must pass a drug and alcohol test
  • you must provide your last 5 years of address history
  • you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area for the last 3 consecutive years as it is a government funded apprenticeship programme and be able to provider all Right to work documents. We do not sponsor student VISAs
  • you must provide your full employment history and CV
  • the ability to work in a role that requires regular heavy-lifting of patients, as well as exposure to bodily fluids - All relevant training will be given
  • willingness and ability to complete a Certificate in Ambulance Patient Care

Responsibility


  • provide compassionate, high-quality care in both emergency and non-emergency patient transport situations
  • to provide compassionate, professional, and high-quality patient care whilst responding to both emergency and non-emergency patient transport situations with the team
  • drive vehicles safely and legally, ensuring patient and colleague comfort
  • communicate calmly and professionally with patients and relatives
  • assess, attend and transport patients and relatives in accordance with Company policies and procedures, including Company scope of practice guidelines
  • assist passengers with accessing vehicles as needed
  • assess, attend, and transport patients following company policies and guidelines
  • complete and submit all relevant documentation accurately and on time
  • be aware of the patient’s social and environmental condition and report any Safeguarding matters to the appropriate person or body
  • report safeguarding concerns based on patients conditions
  • ensure cleaning routines for vehicles, equipment, and facilities adhere to company standards
  • drive all vehicles in emergency/non-emergency situations legally and in accordance with the company driver and emergency driver handbooks, while demonstrating consideration for the comfort and safety of the patient and colleagues, showing consideration for other road users
  • accurately complete all documentation relating to patients, vehicles, and equipment in accordance with Company Policy and submit within required timeframes to management office
  • maintaining the ambulance equipment and supplies, ensuring they are clean and in good working condition
  • transporting non-emergency patients to and from hospitals, clinics or other healthcare facilities
  • assisting patients in and out of the ambulance, ensuring their comfort and safety during transportation
  • managing trauma conditions including, bleeding, burns, shock, epistaxis, head injuries, fractures, sprains
  • regular heavy-lifting, using equipment such as wheelchairs, stretchers and carry chairs
  • complete all relevant operational documentation and carry out daily routine vehicle checks
  • up and down stairs and within restricted spaces
