Responsibility


  • preparation of revenue and capital estimates, monitoring statements and final accounts for a range of Council services
  • provision of financial advice, guidance and training to officers and members as required, including attending officer and member meetings as necessary as well as internal and external seminars on matters affecting the Authority
  • maintaining VAT records to comply with VAT legislation
  • maintenance of the Council’s VAT intranet page
  • budgetary control and monitoring of Business Unit budgets
  • contributing to the preparation of financial accounts
  • assist in the timely and accurate preparation of the annual accounts
  • assist in the ongoing review of financial analysis
  • contribution to the preparation of statutory accounts
  • comply with companies policies and procedures
  • liaising with budget stakeholders
  • this opportunity will be working closely with the Finance Manager, providing support with ad hoc project-based work, whilst assisting in the preparation of the annual budgets
