  • previous experience in an administrative office role and/or a qualification to NVQ Level 2
  • good level of general education with good literacy and numeracy skills
  • at least 12 months recent experience working within the NHS

  • A bespoke Database is in use internally, but full training will be provided in its use

Responsibility


  • the Critical Care Unit consists of a currently expanding 24 bedded Intensive Care and 4 bedded Intermittent haemodialysis unit
  • charles Kingsley Ward is a busy elective surgical ward looking after a variety of surgical patients
  • to support the department in the efficient day to day running with operational tasks
  • support the admission and discharge of patients within the Unit
  • provide accurate information and documentation and supply information as required
  • responsibility for maintaining the trust PAS databases
  • liaison with clinical and admin staff both within and outside the department
  • be able to communicate with the multi-disciplinary team members, families and the patient in a professional manner
  • work within the Intensive Care Unit to provide a comprehensive clerical and administrative support service. To support the operational and nursing leadership team and support the coordination and training for clinical staff
  • contact with patients and other relevant external agencies & ensure delivery of excellent customer service
  • the Critical Care Unit also operate a 24/7 Critical Outreach service, supporting patients throughout the hospital as well as supporting teaching and training
  • we require a motivated, dedicated, professional Ward Clerk that possesses excellent verbal & written communication and ICT skills to provide administrative support to ensure the effective and efficient running of the Ward
  • work within the Critical Care Unit to provide a comprehensive clerical and administrative support service. To support the operational and nursing leadership team and support the coordination and training for clinical staff
  • the administration assistant would be expected to work flexibly within the post to achieve common goals

  • the post holders must be able to demonstrate motivation and adaptability to the fast-paced environment in Gaskell Ward with great communication skills both verbal and written
