  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
  • able to demonstrate clinical leadership skills
  • surgical certificate or above

Responsibility


  • where is the clinic?
  • the Head Vet must adhere to health & safety guidelines, ensuring their Vet team does the same
  • investigate and resolve clinical adverse incidents and customer complaints using these as an opportunity to reflect and improve processes, standards and protocols. Influence and lead the team to change embedded ways of working to improve outcomes
  • liaise with the Group Practice Manager on the findings and corrective action requirements from internal audits, ensuring they are completed in the agreed timescale
  • conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose any medical conditions
  • administer vaccinations and medications as required
  • perform surgical procedures and dental work
  • collaborate with veterinary nurses and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care
  • maintain accurate medical records for each animal treated, including treatment plans and follow-up care instructions
  • educate pet owners on animal health, nutrition, and preventative care measures
  • stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities
  • manage laboratory tests, including blood work and diagnostic imaging, to aid in the diagnosis of illnesses
