as a Software Test Engineer, you will be responsible for testing of a UK software-based solar product
excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve software issues
you will play a critical role in ensuring that the product meets high-quality standards and is free of defects before release
extensive experience with various testing tools and technologies, such as Selenium, JIRA, and TestNG
familiarity with software development methodologies, such as Agile and Scrum, and the ability to work closely with development teams
strong understanding of software quality assurance processes, including regression testing, functional testing, and performance testing
knowledge of software testing in cloud-based environments, including experience with AWS and Azure
experience with testing software on various operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux
your main objective will be to verify that the product meets the requirements of UK homeowners, businesses, and local communities, and to provide a simple and cost-effective solution for generating and monitoring solar energy usage
familiarity with the energy industry and a passion for clean energy solutions
excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise feedback on software issues and to present test results to stakeholders
This role would see you working closely with development teams doing the full software testing life cycle.

Internal API testing to ensure consumer's details are loaded.
Collaborating with Engineering and Product teams to guarantee tests are appropriately created.
What skillset you will hold:
Strong Automation testing experience using Specflow, Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or other frameworks
Ability to read and write C#
Unit testing with nUnit or similar

Due to the company being in its infancy, they need people on site in Cambridge a couple of days per week to help build a culture and make collaborating and information sharing easier.
What will you need to be successful in this position?
You’ll need experience of building something from scratch, from setting up the test environment and automation frameworks, to test strategy. Their tech stack is predominantly Java, so if you’re strong at coding and you can build test automation frameworks in Java, that would be a real benefit.
You should also have solid, proven experience in API testing, performance testing, security testing, etc. and been involved in the full SDLC.
